Conference 2008
Samaggi Samagom and Imperial College London successfully organised a pilot Samaggi Annual Academic Conference (SAAC) on 16-17 February, 2008
The concept of the conference was towards"The Vision of Thailand: Where Will We Stand in the Next 10 Years?". The event was aimed to stimulate thoughts and discussions on the subject matter. We were honoured by the participations of some of the most revered guest speakers of Thailand, including Mr. Preecha Vajarabhaya; The Office of the Civil Service Commission Secretary General, H.E. Pisan Manawapat; Thai Ambassador in Belgium and the EU; Mr Boonchai Charassangsomboom; Minister of the Office of Economic and Financial Affairs, and Dr Sakarindr Bhumiratana, President of NSTDA.
Other notable guests included home speakers, Mr David Fall - former British Ambassador in Thailand and Professor Peter Leyland of The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) who shared their vision of Thailand from a foreign perspective.
The attendees not only benefited the visions of each speaker, an excellent academic forums of selected Thai students were also published. We had over 200 students attended the event.
